4/22/2024 Asia (International Christian Concern) — I am Sinta, and I am from a city that is 99% Muslim, but I have chosen the Lord Jesus as my only Lord and Savior.
My background is a Muslim. I come from a tribe that is very steeped in religion and (witchcraft), so I was often sick when I was a teenager. The pain was like being used for magic, which went on continuously for a long time.
As a teenager, I briefly watched a film about the Lord Jesus. I wanted to know more but had no Christian friends to ask about Isa (Jesus in Arabic) as the Messiah.
One day, I met a Christian. This man was a true follower of Jesus and devout in his worship. Coincidentally, our houses are close to each other. He often invited me to worship on Sundays, and from these services, I experienced God and how the Lord Jesus loves my life so much. I cried and felt the Lord Jesus touch my life.
One time, I attended Sunday worship. After the word of God, there was an altar call session, and the pastor prayed for me. There, I felt the love and peace of the Lord Jesus, and God touched my life. It was an atmosphere that I had never felt before. I felt the person of Jesus in my life.
I used to be angry, speak harshly, and be uneducated, but my life changed after meeting the Lord Jesus.
A year later, I married the man who invited me to church. But before we married, I had many challenges in my life. Because (I had left Islam), my parents and siblings protested strongly against me marrying my current husband. I was verbally abused, scolded, and thrown out of the house.
After I accepted the Lord Jesus into my life, I never felt the strange pain I did when I was involved in witchcraft; my husband and I often prayed for sick people. The power of the Lord Jesus, whom we worship, is real.
Our parents and neighbors found out about our (church), and we had to move to another city and start a new life.
I hold on to John 14:6, where Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
